Kingston University is an internationally recognised institution with a rich history whose purpose is to push the boundaries of learning through teaching, research, enterprise and professional practice. In this context, the University is particularly keen to ensure that every student enjoys a rich blend of learning during their residency and offers a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular learning. With more than 17,000 students, of whom 16 per cent are from overseas, engaging appropriately with each and every one of them to this end is a daunting task.

The University was keen to develop a systematic approach to support the above objective so that students could engage as and when and in a way that suited them and for which the administration involved was achieved cost effectively. A procurement exercise was initiated under the G Cloud 9 framework and Crimson Consultants was selected based upon its experience within the sector and its range of Accelerators which deliver HE-specific functionality. “We were particularly keen to select a partner which could provide sustainability by investing long term in their core solution and we found that with Microsoft at the platform level and Crimson for HE-specifics,” Simon Harrison, Chief Information Officer, Kingston University explained.
